Imagination, Coincidences and Timeline Jumping!
I had the most interesting experience over the weekend. It kinda felt like that moment at the end of a scary movie when the main character finally pieces everything together, the flashbacks start playing, and it dawns on them who the killer is! Only, mine had absolutely nothing to do with killers! haha!
Before I get to my “main character” moment, I want to explore what our imagination actually is.
It sounds simple — we all have an imagination, we all experience it but where does it really come from?
Scientists still can’t fully explain déjà vu — that strange feeling that you’ve already experienced the exact moment you’re in, even though you know you haven’t. Is that imagination? A subconscious projection? Or… timeline jumping?
*Timeline jumping is a term used to describe the idea that we can shift between different realities or versions of ourselves, consciously or unconsciously, aligning with a new timeline that matches a different energetic frequency or possibility. In other words, it’s when your consciousness “jumps” into another version of reality that already exists. In that expanded field, past, present and future can coexist at the same time.
Another school of thought is that imagination isn’t just a function of the brain, but actually a portal, a doorway into higher consciousness, the universe, or the divine (whatever language resonates with you). It doesn’t need to be a religious or spiritual concept. But think about it, without imagination, how could we dream up the future job we want, the partner we hope to meet, what we crave for dinner, the holiday we want to take, the car we’d love to drive, or the perfect outfit for our best friend’s wedding?
Our imagination is everything.
Pretty obvious, right?
But what if imagination itself is the highway to higher consciousness and with some awareness and practice, we can learn to access that highway more often?
That’s what I think happened to me over the weekend.
Stick with me!
The Experience
On Sunday morning, I joined my regular online meditation led by an amazing mentor. This meditation practice is one where we connect to Source energy and simply hang out there and observe thoughts and whatever intention arises for the day.
While I was in stillness, I suddenly started seeing a scene from Grease — the part where Frenchie is in her pink wig, the song is “Beauty School Dropout.” You know the one, all white background, angels in white dresses flapping around.
I thought, Why on earth am I seeing Grease right now? Pretty random, even by my standards!
I didn’t overthink it, just observed but the song got stuck in my head. The meditation ended, and I didn’t think much more of it.
Later that day, I was out in the garden pulling weeds and tidying up. I have lots of lavender, so the bees were happily buzzing around. I actually quite like them and don’t mind working near them. But this time, I must have trapped one under my arm because I got stung on the inside of my upper arm (between my elbow and shoulder). It’s still itching like crazy two days later!
The Coincidences Begin
A few hours later, I went out to dinner with friends.
The first little nudge happened when my drink arrived, it came with two tall straws printed with little bees on them. I remember thinking, Hmm… interesting. I get bee straws on the same day I get my first bee sting. Noted.
Then one of my friends started talking about a French exchange student staying with them. Their kids are going into Year 12 next year, and she mentioned how the student had ordered her Year 12 jacket with her nickname printed on it “Frenchie.”
We all laughed and said, “Like Frenchie from Grease!”
At that point, my attention definitely perked up.
Then, my other friend sitting right next to me suddenly started singing “Beauty School Dropout.”
Okay… now my head was spinning.
She was literally singing the same song I saw in my meditation that morning!
This couldn’t just be coincidence.
So What Happened?
Did I access something in meditation earlier that morning?
Was it just random imagination that happened to pick Grease as its scene?
Did I somehow manifest the bee sting?
Or were the straws a little reminder from the universe that we’re never really alone?
Why did that conversation about the French exchange student with “Frenchie” on her jacket happen at dinner?
And how did my friend end up singing “Beauty School Dropout” of all the songs to choose from, without knowing any of this?
Did I timeline jump?
Did I project a scene from my near eight-hour future?
I think so.
Every day, I’m reminded that we are so much more than just skin and bones with personalities. We are consciousness itself, vast and expansive beyond what we could ever truly imagine.
And that’s the point, your imagination is your access point to that consciousness it’s all there, open for anyone to explore.
I hope you enjoyed my little story of imagination, coincidences and timeline jumping! If you’d like to explore this path with me, I’d love to connect.
With love,
Lauren 💫
P.S. The cover photo is from my garden, but not the actual culprit who stung me!! ha!
